World Ocean Day 2024

World Ocean Day is an international day that takes place annually on the 8th of June. It’s a great time to increase awareness and connections to the ocean realm so that we can better protect and restore our blue planet. This year, Kauai Ocean Discovery, Kukui Grove tenants and community partners have teamed up for a themed day of activities around ocean conservation as well as summer fun!

There will be a number of learning and activity stations, providing hands-on activities, including:

• A keiki Wildlife Habitat Game
• Introduction to Kauai seabirds and wetland birds
• Knowing about Kauai’s rarest seabirds and how you can help protect them
• Gyotaku fish prints and fish anatomy
• Whale-of-Fortune spinning wheel game
• Make your own fingerprint oceanscapes fan
• Make-and-take ocean jigsaw puzzles
• Ocean-themed temporary tattoos
• The Smile Lab photo booth

Participants include some of the most notable ocean organizations on Kauai, as well as Center tenants:
