OHA’S EMERGENCY RELIEF FUNDS – SNAP ASSISTANCE
On February 16 from 930a-1130a, the Hawaiian Council is administering a financial assistance program on behalf of the Office of Hawaiian Affairs to support eligible Native Hawaiian individuals receiving SNAP who do not have child dependents. OHA’s goal for the program was to support individuals whose SNAP benefits were impacted due to the federal government shutdown in November 2025. The program provides $350 grocery gift cards at designated stores (for Kauaʻi, it will be Times Supermarkets and Foodland stores).
We believe there are many individuals who could benefit from this support. We are engaging communities across the state to inform them of the program, help them to apply, and issue gift cards (upon approval of eligibility) on the spot.
