Kauai Steel Guitar Festival – FREE Concert
Join us in welcoming back the Annual Kaua’i Steel Guitar Festival!
The 7th Annual Kaua‘i Steel Guitar Festival will be held on Sunday, May 7, 2023 at the Kukui Grove Center from 12pm-3:30pm.
This is the first year that festivals will be presented at two venues on Kauai. The first day will be held on Saturday, May 6th at the Sheraton Coconut Beach Resort. This format is similar to the format of the Maui Steel Guitar Festival, where festivals are presented at multiple venues to expand the outreach of the Hawaiian steel guitar.
The Festival will include steel guitar performances by Hawaiian steel guitar masters, school visitations, workshops, kanikapila jam sessions for play-along or listening enjoyment, and Open Stage sessions where amateur Hawaiian Steel Guitarists present their own programs to festival guests. A vintage steel guitar exhibit and hands-on opportunities for festival guests to learn more about and experience the Hawaiian steel guitar are also a part of the festival.
Sunday’s program at Kukui Grove features a ho‘olaule‘a concert on Center Stage in the Food Court with feature performances by Hawaiian steel guitar masters alongside NextGen talent. The Kukui Grove Center event will also include hands-on opportunities for festival guests. For more details on program, please see the Festival poster below.

The Kauaʻi Steel Guitar Festival will be presented free to the public by Hawaii Institute for Music Enrichment and Learning Experiences (HIMELE) in association with the Ke Kula Mele Hawai‘i School of Hawaiian Music.
